Drew's Reviews

I love to review things in my day-to-day life. Welcome to my opinions and impressions. I think you'll like it here.

Observation

The stains on my shirt remain even after washing with detergent, which didn’t clean them very well.

Question

Which detergents can get the stains out the best?

Hypothesis

I thought β€œAll,” one of the detergents, would work best because it was featured on a video highlighting the top cleanest detergents.

Materials

  • Β 3 white shirts
  • Β 3 pods (1 Tide, 1 All, and 1 Great Value)
  • Β 3 Tablespoons of grease [1 tablespoon oil /grease for each shirt)
  • ΒΎ cup of wine (ΒΌ cup of red wine for each shirt
  • one ink pen

Procedure

First, we researched the three toughest stains to get out of clothes, which were: grease, red wine, ink, and blood. For legal reasons we only used three out of the four because we can’t legally obtain blood.  Next, we used three white T-shirts to test the red wine, ink, and grease. Then we used 3 pod detergents, Tide, All, and Great Value.

Results

DetergentGreaseRed WineInk
TideΓΌXX
AllΓΌXX
Great ValueΓΌXX

All removed the grease but failed to remove the other stains.

Great Value cleaned the grease and some red wine, but not the ink.

Β Tide removed grease; the red wine faded slightly, but the ink stain remained.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Tide removed the most stains. Great Value was second to remove the stains, and All was last.

Great job! Appreciate your research and findings. Can you do an experiment on palladium next? πŸ€—

Palladium does not exist unfortunately. Bleach works on stains though. Please subscribe if you haven’t already.

Thanks for doing this research and analysis. It’s good to know that Tide is the best option. I often use Tide detergent to do my laundry. It’s interesting that the All detergent, which is supposed to be β€œThe Stain Lifter,” did not do a better job with the other stains. Thanks again and keep it coming!
